Santa Rita St and Guadalupe St Sewer Main Rehabilitation Project

Overview

The project consists of the replacement of approximately 1.6 miles of gravity sanitary sewage pipeline servicing residential parcels. This includes the construction and installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet (lf) of 8-inch high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) for gravity sewer installed using pipe bursting methods; construction and installation of approximately 270-lf of 8-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gravity sewer main using open trench construction methods; construction and installation of approximately 15-lf of 8-inch PVC overflow connection using open trench construction methods; and construction and installation of approximately 30-lf of 8-inch HDPE gravity sewer using hand excavation methods. The existing alignments run through residential paved areas and unimproved easements. The proposed project is part of CAWD’s infrastructure upgrade program to replace aging infrastructure and provide better reliability for CAWD’s customers in and around the project area.

Project Status

Currently, this project has completed the planning stage and we are working on the finalizing the engineering and construction plans. City and County permits for construction will be obtained in second half of 2024. Following an RFP process the contractor will be selected in late 2024 with construction anticipated to begin in early 2025.
